Leakesville Water System Announces Temporary Discoloration of Water

The Leakesville Water System is currently experiencing an increase in red or brown discolored water, in the local city system. This is due to emergency repairs being made to our water treatment plant.
A vital part of the treatment process, responsible for removing excess iron, malfunctioned and requires replacement. We want to assure our customers that the discolored water is safe to drink.
Our team is working diligently to adjust treatment methods and minimize the amount of free iron entering the water system.
In the meantime, you may experience temporary staining of laundry. To minimize this, we recommend running cold water only.
Once the repairs are complete, our team will work on flushing discolored water from the system.
